Samuel recently sent us this update on G-BIACK's activities. World Environment Day is held each year on June 5 and is celebrated by countries around the world. It is one of the most important ways the United Nations (UN) promotes awareness of the environment and increases political attention and action. G-BIACK hosted this year’s World Environment Day in our province. Local schools and farmers were invited, and the function was attended by area leaders, the Ministry of Environment, and the Ministry of Agriculture. More than 400 people attended. Each school represented at the function agreed to establish a GB garden through their environmental clubs. G-BIACK gave out more than 400 trees to be planted in the region. This was a terrific opportunity for our organization. For more information about G-BIACK, visit www.g-biack.org
