  • West Coast Green is sponsoring an interactive conference and expo on innovation and green building at the San Jose (California) Convention Center September 25-28. For more information: http://www.westcoastgreen.com.
  • UCSC Farm and Garden Apprenticeship program is looking for applicants for its mid-April- mid October 2009 full time intensive courses. For more information contact UCSC center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems http://casfs.ucsc.edu. Application deadline September 1, 2008 for international students and October 15th for US and Canada.
  • The Full Belly Farm in Capay Valley, California, is hosting its 21st Annual Hoes Down Festival, October 4th, 2008,  from, 11am-11pm. For more info please call (800) 791-2110 or view their website http://www.hoesdown.org/
  • The public is invited to tour the Occidental Arts & Ecology Center on Saturday, September 13. This tour begins at 10 am and will run approximately 1.5 hrs. Tour participants will be introduced to the Center's organic gardens, which preserve thousands of varieties of rare and endangered food, medicinal, and ornamental plants. Sturdy shoes, brimmed hat or warm layers (depending on weather), and personal water bottles are recommended. A suggested donation of $10 per person is requested.
